This week’s **Featured Crafter** is
Cathy Camera
of “Scrap4U”

Home is Where the Heart is Canvas
$8.75
Cathy Camera is a crafter and scrap-booking aficianodo from Sydney, Australia. She describes herself as, “30-something, have been married to a great guy for 7 years and I’m a mum to two gorgeous little boys. I’m from Sydney, Australia. Currently on extended maternity leave, I’ll be returning to the classroom as a primary school teacher mid-year on a part-time or casual basis. I’ve always loved to create having dabbled in sewing, cross stitch and even drawing (which many people would not know!) in the past. I also love photography and of course scrapbooking!!”

Cathy’s current crafting passions include “mainly greeting cards and other scrapbooking products like guest books and canvases, however I’m always extending the boundaries with one of my latest creations being an ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals).”
The materials Cathy enjoys to use most include “paper, ribbon, crystals, metal embellishments, brads…the list is endless! I love visiting scrapbooking and other craft stores!”
The training and background Cathy has recieved for her current crafting includes some scrapbooking courses. But Cathy says, “I’ve really been collecting pictues/quotes/magazine articles and arranging them in books since I was in primary school!”

When Cathy isn’t busy crafting she is usually teaching and says that she loves working with children. “Creativity is a part of that job in many different ways which is why I enjoy it so much. I also like to play with my children, go out to dinner with family and friends, read, take photos and watch TV (occasionally). Oh yes - and SHOP - whenever I get the chance.”
When asked why people should visit her shop, Cathy replied, “Scrap4U offers hand crafted greeting cards, guest books, canvases and other gifts which are not only unique but also personal and lasting keepsakes.” Cathy also wants her shop visitors to know that she “hopes others get as much enjoyment out of receiving [her] products as [she] gets out of creating them.” After seeing her creations, there is no doubt that they do!

Love Mesh Note Card
$3.50
If you would like to contact Cathy regarding her work you can email her at:

*My first ever featured artist/crafter of the week!*
This week’s crafter:
BunniesHoney by Steph Mernagh
http://www.myspace.com/bunnieshoney

“The Sakui Books”
$11.00
Steph Mernagh is a twenty-year old full-time college student, in a hotel and restaurant program, and a self-taught crafter from St. Catherine’s, Ontario Canada. She somehow manages a full class schedule, volunteering at a local coffee shop, and creating unique crafts! Her shop is full of creative items, with a little bit of something for everyone. Steph offers unique Japanese folding books and pendants, handmade beauty products, jewelry, and her own photography. She also includes her fiancée, Daniel Delledonne’s, photography, whom she says helps train her with her own work.

“100 percent All Natural Face and Body Exfoliant Set”
$8.50
Steph’s favorite materials to work with are her ”Pentax Optio MX4, yuzen chiyogami paper and [her] hands.” When asked what inspires her craft, Steph responded, “My best friend moved to Japan in January of this year, and she always sends me great ideas of things she sees. My photography tends to reflect my love of nature. ” Another inspiration in Steph’s life is her dream to own her own cafe someday. She puts a portion of her profits toward fulfilling this dream. Steph’s other interests include writing articles on travel and places to travel to.

“Candy Connections”
$15.00
“Next month I will be creating things that when they are sold, all profit goes to the Canadian Diabetes Association, as I have lost my grandfather, the most influential person in my life, to diabetes,” says Steph. This is one aspect that makes BunniesHoney a unique shop that everyone should check out. Steph will be dedicating an entire section (Diabetes Fund) of her shop to this and all the profits “will go directly to the Foundation to give a memorial donation in the name of [her] grandfather.”

An inspirational piece…this photograph was taken of my grandmother’s art supplies that were handed down to me. She was also an artist…the paintings she has hung around her home always captivated me when I would visit. And in fact…they still do! It was quite an honor to be given her supplies, so one day I took them out and started photographing them. I ended up turning this one into a black and white and found this amazing quote by Van Gogh that I added. This has been my best selling piece in my Etsy shop. I love that my grandmother’s art supplies are being sent around the world to inspire other artists as well.Available for sale in my Etsy shop for $8.00 per 8″x10″ print on Ultra Premium semi-gloss Kodak paper.

Just finished and listed this on Etsy a few moments ago…I should go to bed but thought I’d write a post about it first ;). I’ve been obsessed with Photoshop lately…staying up wayyyy too late creating and altering images! This one is called “The Cat & the Hare” and was created with a vintage Edwardian photograph and vintage Victorian clip-art. I’m so happy with the final outcome…especially how the “hands” worked out so nicely…Let me know your thoughts!
Availabe on Etsy for $12 per 6″x8″ print.

This is my first digital collage created with Photoshop. I have created several digital collages before…but I just began using Photoshop…which I am now addicted to! I woke up in the middle of the night last night just to use it. Insanity. I don’t know how I ever lived without it!
This piece was created with my own ephemera: an antique cabinet photo of a little boy (in what appears to be a dress ;), vintage text pages from an antique catalogue, a vintage French handwritten letter, and a vintage Victorian trade card (where the birds came from). I digitally altered the background French letter, added the birds and text which reads, “when one is a child,” as well as a text hat.
When I had finished it looked to me as though this little boy had been captured in time…thus the title, “Capturing Childhood.” I currently love mixing vintage and contemporary designs and love how this came across in this piece. I also thorough enjoyed creating a mixed-media/altered art piece using my computer ;)…can’t wait to make another one!
This piece is currently for sale in my Etsy shop for $12.00 per 8″x10″print. Printed on Ultra Premium Kodak semi-gloss paper.
